London - Former Wimbledon champion Pat Cash believes British number one player Andy Murray can finally win his elusive grand slam this year at the All England Club. Cash thinks Murray could win the Wimbledon for and because of his coach Ivan Lendl, whom he defeated in the 1987 Wimbledon final.
Lendl, who claimed all the other three Grand Slams, also lost the 1986 final to Boris Becker and reached another five semis but failed to satisfy his grass court obsession.
Murray has reached three Grand Slam finals and the last three Wimbledon semis without success, but Cash believes his former rival can give Murray the X Factor to finally win his first ever grand slam.
"I think it is always good for a player to have someone like Lendl in your corner. He is full of experience and I know they get on well. I think they will be a good combination," The Daily Mirror quoted Cash, as saying.
"There is a lot of pressure on Andy. But he has the crowd behind him as well so it works both ways. He is playing a slightly more attacking style of play and that is what he needs to do. He plays better that way. We will probably see that again at Wimbledon," he added.
"A lot of it has got to do with his draw - he needs a good draw and needs to get a couple of matches under his belt and then he will be on his way and anything can happen then," he said.
