London - Jodie Marsh, who has been warned by doctors that gruelling demands of bodybuilding could be putting her fertility at risk – has said that she will adopt.
The former glamour girl, who recently won a world championship, admitted to putting her body through a punishing exercise schedule and diet to get the physique she needs.
She revealed she recently suffered agonising stomach pains but said that she wasn’t worried by the warning -- because she fancies giving a home to a needy kid.
“I’ve been for a full medical and I did ask them about my fertility because it had occurred to me I might be damaging it. They said it would do long-term damage if it was a permanent diet,†the Sun quoted her as saying.
“Once I’ve finished a competition, I go back to eating very healthily and my body recovers, so they said that should be fine as long as I don’t compete too often.
“But I’m a big believer in what will be. If I’m meant to have kids, I will, and if I’m not, there are other ways. I know I could love an adopted child just as much as my own,†she said.
The 33-year-old admitted that although she would love “the fairytale marriage and kidsâ€, it won’t happen just yet.
“For now, I’m concentrating on my career,†she said.
Marsh won her category at the Natural Bodybuilding Federation Championships in Washington DC last month.
She is due to compete again this weekend -- but insisted that she will then give her body a break until autumn.
She admitted to feeling “horrendous†the night before competing last month.
“Because I had done a ‘carb-up’ where you increase your carbohydrates, my stomach produced extra hydrochloric acid.
“I was that close to going to hospital,†she added.
