London - Retired British heptathlete Denise Lewis has said that being a mother is harder than achieving any gold medal at the Olympics.
The Olympic gold medalist admitted that being a mum is one of the hardest things in the word in an interview.
“Being a mum is much harder than competing. If you’re doing a good job then you are constantly looking for ways to inspire your children and get them learning about life,†she told the Daily Express.
She explained that being a mum of three, she had high hopes for her children being athletes but wasn’t putting any pressure on them.
“My children are very young but naturally yes if they were gifted in a particular sport I would want them to follow that but for now they are just at school and learning about themselves,†she added.
