Jenson Button enjoys Mediterranean sun with girlfriend before Brit Grand Prix

London -  Jenson Button made the most of the sunshine while holidaying in the Mediterranean, before Sunday’s British Grand Prix.

The British driver has admitted he is concerned about the upcoming race with heavy rain forecast for Silverstone.

Enjoying a mini break during the current Formula One season, the 32-year-old chartered a yacht with his Japanese model girlfriend Jessica Michibata, 27.

The handsome couple were seen working on their tans, but then put on swimming caps as they plunged into the sea.

Michibata, who has been dating Button since 2009, started off in a pink bikini, before changing into a blue swimsuit, the Daily Mail reported.

Button, widely regarded as one of the best drivers in the wet, revealed he had been scared by the track conditions as Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso and Bruno Senna of Williams crashed after  aquaplaning off the circuit.

“I can’t see us being allowed to race in these conditions,” he said.

“There’s a lot of standing water. It was quite scary out there. On your own its OK but in a pack it’s very difficult,” he added.

Fearing a repeat of the mud bath that was the British Grand Prix of 12 years ago, Silverstone managing director Richard Phillips said: “We may have to send people on and we don’t want to do that. I unreservedly apologise, I feel like I could cry.”
