Murray’s girl dethrones Duchess Kate as `hair queen`

London -  Her boyfriend may have lost out on the Wimbledon title on Sunday, but Andy Murray’s girlfriend Kim Sears has bagged a top prize of her own.

With her polished style and bouncy blow dry hair, the 24-year-old has often been compared to the Duchess of Cambridge throughout the two-week tournament.

And now, with the finals of Wimbledon having been played, Sears’ high profile appearances have helped her edge ahead of Kate - in the hair wars.

According to one high profile salon, the tennis ace’s girlfriend’s voluminous, honey-toned hair has quickly become the most requested style of the month, far exceeding requests for the  locks of former blow dry queen Kate.

Hair stylist extraordinaire Charles Worthington has reported being inundated with customers requesting ‘The Kim’ after her locks became the focus of attention on Centre Court during the  tennis tournament.

The style, presented by Kim to perfection in court-side seat, has overtaken requests for a copy of the popular styles of Kate, Cheryl Cole and Blake Lively.

“Our customers regularly ask us to recreate the hair styles of their favourite celebrities, and Kate is amongst those most requested,” the Daily Mail quoted Mathew Soobroy, master stylist at

Charles Worthington Salons as saying.

“But as the UK has been gripped watching Andy Murray on Centre Court, we’ve experienced an incredible uplift in requests for Kim Sears’ style, exceeding requests for other celebrities by

over 50 per cent.

“It’s no surprise that Kim Sears is giving stylish celebrities some serious competition in the hair arena this summer. Her natural, glossy hair is the perfect relaxed summer look. Her style says

girl next door, but with a little extra gloss and bounce,” Soobroy said.

Soobroy further added that her lighter coloured locks and softer, more natural blow-dry are very appealing to women.
