London - Olympic champion Usain Bolt has slammed legendary US athlete Carl Lewis for putting a question mark over Jamaican athletes' splendid performance in the track events at the London Games, saying that he has lost all respect for the American great.
Bolt fiercely said the Jamaican athletes were clean, and their hard work has paid dividends at the Olympics.
The world's fastest man blasted Lewis for seeking attention, and added his fellow athletes are drug free.
"I am going to say something controversial - I have no respect for Carl Lewis, he is looking for attention," The Daily Mirror quoted Bolt, as saying.
"I train hard, especially with all my team-mates. Yohan and I work hard, get injuries, ice baths, when people doubt us we try our best to show what we can do. I can assure the world that we are drug-free," he added.
Bolt and his training partner Yohan Blake are expected to continue their rivalry in the coming years and the sprinter has not ruled out defending his titles in four years' time in Rio de Janeiro.
"I hope I'm there. I'm going to be 30 and I hope I'm still in good shape. Yohan will be 26, so it should be interesting. I am not going to retire just yet, it is still a lot of fun," Bolt said.
