Eto'o a doubt for Anzhi: Hiddink

Moscow -  Cameroon striker Samuel Eto'o is doubtful for Anzhi Makhachkala's next Russian football league game against Zenit St. Petersburg Saturday after coming  down with a cold, Anzhi coach Guud Hiddink said Friday.

Eto'o skipped an open training session held Friday at Anzhi's training base outside Moscow.

“He has a cold and we’ve decided that it’s better for him to skip the training session," Hiddink said.

"Tomorrow we’ll see whether he is able to play against Zenit.”

Eto'o's strike partner Lacina Traore, a summer signing from FC Kuban, is an injury doubt as he tries to recover from a thigh problem, Hiddink said.

Midfielder Odil Akhmedov trained separately from the team Friday, and is set to travel to Germany to see doctors about a leg injury.

“On Sunday, Odil will go to Germany, where he will receive medical consultation from German professors," Hiddink said.

Anzhi is fifth in the Russian Premier League, while Zenit top the table after winning all of their first four games.
