In a huge sigh of relief for Indian boxer Vijender Singh, National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) announced on Tuesday that the boxer has tested negative in the drug test.
Virender Sehwag scored a blistering half-century in the first session of the first Test against England as India reached 120 runs for no loss of a wicket at Lunch. The dashing opener was unbeaten on 79 runs and Gambhir on 37 as England bowlers failed to get a singlebreakthrough.
Both openers Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir scored crisply as earlier, Indian captain MS Dhoni won the toss and elected to bat first. Sehwag was in punishing mood as he scored 15 runs in one of Tim Bresnan’s over after reaching his fifty.
India included all-rounder Yuvraj Singh in the team while Steve Finn was not included due to an injury. Nick Compton makes debut.
Brief Score: India 120 for no loss (Virender Sehwag 79*, Gautam Gambhir 37*) vs England
