Seemingly unfazed at being ousted from the Asian Athletics Association, scam-tainted Suresh Kalmadi on Monday said losing the presidential re-election bid to Qatar’s Dahlan Jumaan Al-Hamad has actually given him a chance to work at the “grassroots” level.
“I have no issues today and I congratulate Mr Al-Hamad for being elected as President. I am rather relieved that I will be able to work at the grassroots level in athletics,” Mr. Kalmadi said after losing the vote during the ongoing AAA Congress in Pune.

Morkel expects 'uneven bounce' on Adelaide wicket to suit him more than Oz quicks

Sydney -  South Africa fast bowler Morne Morkel believes the uneven bounce on the Adelaide wicket would suit his type of bowling in the second Test match against Australia.

Morkel is also of the opinion that the fading nature of the Adelaide pitch for the second Test will suit him better than Brisbane pitch's perfect surface.

While the Adelaide Oval can be a batsman's paradise for the first few days, it traditional plays at varying heights later in the game, making accurate pace men as dangerous as spinners.

And variable bounce facing the tall, erect Morkel would be a nightmare for batsmen trying to judge whether the ball will climb at their throat or dart through at their knees.

"It can play into my hands a little bit. The thing about the Gabba, the wicket was so good and the bounce was so true if there's a little bit of inconsistent bounce and we can get the ball to reverse (swing), if there's not much happening off the wicket that's the sort of thing we're looking at," quoted Morkel, as saying.

"Hopefully the wicket will do that and play into our hands," he added.
