Seemingly unfazed at being ousted from the Asian Athletics Association, scam-tainted Suresh Kalmadi on Monday said losing the presidential re-election bid to Qatar’s Dahlan Jumaan Al-Hamad has actually given him a chance to work at the “grassroots” level.
“I have no issues today and I congratulate Mr Al-Hamad for being elected as President. I am rather relieved that I will be able to work at the grassroots level in athletics,” Mr. Kalmadi said after losing the vote during the ongoing AAA Congress in Pune.

Tata Open Golf from Nov 22

Jamshedpur - The Rs.50 Lakh Tata Open Golf will return here at the Beldih and Golmuri Golf Courses Nov 22-25 under the aegis of the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI).

The four-day tournament has a line-up of top Indian professionals such as defending champion Vinod Kumar, former champions Mukesh Kumar, Shamim Khan and Gurki Shergill as well as other leading professionals like Rashid Khan, Harendra Gupta, Om Prakash Chouhan, Abhijit Singh Chadha, Shankar Das, Vijay Kumar, Feroz Ali Mollah and Harmeet Kahlon.

The top foreign golfers in the field include Mithun Perera (Sri Lanka), Anura Rohana (Sri Lanka), Kunal Bhasin (Australia) and Md. Zamal Hossain Mollah (Bangladesh).

There are a total of 118 golfers participating in the tournament.
