Els vows to make life tough for Woods at Augusta Masters

London, Mar 19 (ANI): South African golfer Ernie Els has vowed to make life tough for Tiger Woods on the course as well as off it after the World No.1 announced his plan make his return during Augusta Masters.

The South African superstar showed no fear when he slammed Woods for being "selfish" over the timing of his first public announcement after being engulfed in a series of sex scandals.

And after his thrilling victory in the CA World Golf Championship event at Doral, Els made it clear that Woods is not the only player targeting Major glory this year.

"I have a good opportunity now. I just feel the golf courses we are playing this year in Majors, I love them. I've been so close so often at Augusta, I've done well at Pebble Beach. I've done well at St Andrews and I did well at Whistling Straits. So I like those courses," The Sun quoted him, as saying.

"I feel if I have my game there, I could have a good chance. I think it's a good opportunity for a lot of players to basically try and strike now," Els said.

Els feels Woods is going to struggle to recapture his best form after all the distractions of a fractured marriage and the continued focus on his lurid private life.

Els has been runner-up twice at Augusta and between 2000 and 2005, he never finished outside the top six.

That made his hat-trick of missed cuts in the last three Masters even more inexplicable and he will surely be back in the mix this time.
