Seemingly unfazed at being ousted from the Asian Athletics Association, scam-tainted Suresh Kalmadi on Monday said losing the presidential re-election bid to Qatar’s Dahlan Jumaan Al-Hamad has actually given him a chance to work at the “grassroots” level.
“I have no issues today and I congratulate Mr Al-Hamad for being elected as President. I am rather relieved that I will be able to work at the grassroots level in athletics,” Mr. Kalmadi said after losing the vote during the ongoing AAA Congress in Pune.

Muamba says revisiting 'dying' spot on Spurs' pitch was closure

London - Former Bolton Wanderers star Fabrice Muamba, who suffered a cardiac arrest while playing against Tottenham Hotspurs in a FA Cup tie, has said revisiting the spot on the White Hart Lane pitch where he almost died brought closure to him.

Muamba got this feeling when last month he returned to White Hart Lane for the first time, walking onto the pitch at half time in Spurs' Europa League game against Maribor to visit the spot where his fight for life began.

"I wanted to go and see where I fell down. I watched some DVDs to see where it was. I felt I had to go and look at that spot again. I felt better afterwards. For me, that was closure," the Daily Mirror quoted Muamba, as saying.

"Before I went out there in front of the Spurs fans, I wasn't sure I could face it. But I'm glad I did. I can get on with my life. I'm fine. At some point, you have to retire, although I didn't think it would happen like that. But I've got the most important gift of all," he added.

"Now I have to change gears, reverse the car and go in a different direction. I have to adjust my life and move on," he said.
