NYON, March 19, 2010 (DPA) - Holders Barcelona face Premier League side Arsenal while Manchester United take on Germany’s Bayern Munich in the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League.
Friday’s draw also pitted the two French sides Olympique Lyon and Girondins Bordeaux against each other, while Italian champions Inter Milan meet Russian side CSKA Moscow.
Barcelona beat Arsenal 2-1 in the 2006 Champions League final, while the United-Bayern meeting will recall memories of the 1999 final which was won by Manchester United in extra time.
Three-time winners Barcelona have also been given a tough potential semi-final encounter against Inter, who put out Chelsea in the previous round, should both go through.
The winner of the United-Bayern tie will come up against the winner of the all-French quarterfinal.
The first legs will be played on March 30 and 31, with the return matches the following week (April 6 and 7). The semifinal first legs will be played on April 20 and 21, with the second legs on April 27 and 28.
