Seemingly unfazed at being ousted from the Asian Athletics Association, scam-tainted Suresh Kalmadi on Monday said losing the presidential re-election bid to Qatar’s Dahlan Jumaan Al-Hamad has actually given him a chance to work at the “grassroots” level.
“I have no issues today and I congratulate Mr Al-Hamad for being elected as President. I am rather relieved that I will be able to work at the grassroots level in athletics,” Mr. Kalmadi said after losing the vote during the ongoing AAA Congress in Pune.

Haye scoffs at champion Vitali for fighting 'nobodies'

London - British heavyweight boxer David Haye has taunted World Boxing Council champion Vitali Klitschko for fighting weak opponents throughout his career and challenged him to sign up for their world title fight.

Haye, who lost his WBA crown to Klitschko's younger brother, Wladimir in Hamburg last year, said Vitali wouldn't get a stronger rival than him, and added that if the Ukrainian wants to leave a legacy behind him then he should fight better rivals.

Haye is still eyeing one last fight before retiring and says a contract has been agreed with the 41-year-old Ukrainian although nothing has been signed.
