Oz cricketer Voges credits coach Langer for career revival, team success

Sydney -  Australian cricketer Adam Voges has credited domestic Western Australia (WA) head coach Justin Langer for the success of WA and the sudden revival of his international career.

The Western Australian reflected on the tumultous period of the team's unsuccessful Champions League campaign, resulting in the removals of coach Lachy Stevens and captain Marcus North, and said that his team was saved from that period by the arrival of Langer, the Sydney Morning Herald reports.

Creditting Langer for his success in international cricket, Voges said that Langer alnd his batting coach Wayne Andrews helped to improve his technique before the Big Bash, which put him in an advantageous position as far the selectors were concerned.

Voges further said that scoring 112 not out against the West Indies had been a source of relief, elation and excitement for him, particularly as he had resigned himself to never representing Australia again.

He added that the best time to get selected is when a player is scoring runs, which should be exploited as long as the period lasts.

Voges said he was hopeful the tight left hamstring that prevented him fielding on Sunday night will recover in time for him to feature in the season-ending Twenty20 match against the West Indies in Brisbane on Wednesday night.  (ANI)
