Fabregas desperate to play in Spain's semi final starting line up

London(ANI): Spanish striker Cesc Fabregas is desperate to help his team beat Germany in the World Cup semifinals.

Arsenal's skipper is yet to start a match in South Africa and is unhappy at having to make do with short appearances as substitute.

Fabregas came on for Fernando Torres in the second half of Saturday night's 1-0 victory over Paraguay in the last eight.

"All I want is to play football. When I came on, I didn't think about it. It was the quarterfinal of the World Cup, I just wanted to play, I wanted to enjoy, do well for the team, and show I can play," The Sun quoted Fabregas, as saying.

"I feel good, I feel motivated. And of course, when you are not playing, you have to give even more to get yourself into the team," he said.

Fabregas went for the World Cup after sitting out the final two months of Arsenal's Premier League season with a broken leg.

"I needed games, I needed minutes on the pitch. You in Johannesburg can train as much as you like but if you don't play, you will never get your fitness back. It felt much better against Paraguay on the pitch so hopefully in the next two games I will feel better," he said.

European Champions Spain is into the World Cup semi-finals for the first time.
