Hamilton says he has no deal to pull aside to help teammates

London(ANI): McLaren ace Lewis Hamilton has said that he does not expect to be in the position where he has to accept team orders to pull aside for a teammate like Ferrari rival Felipe Massa did for Fernando Alonso during last Sunday's German Grand Prix in Hockenheim.

"I don't think at any stage of the season, in any season, I would pull aside for my team-mate. I think it would the same for Jenson. We are out there to fight until the last breath. We are here to win the drivers' championship individually and we have to conduct ourselves in the best way we can to score points. That is what we do,” The Sun quoted 25-year-old Hamilton, as saying.

"I can try to understand what Massa is feeling and I would not want to be in that position. You can tell he was hurt. I want to win a grand prix fairly. You want to win the championship knowing you have beaten every person fair and square, knowing nothing has been given to you and you have had to grind your way through," he added.

Hamilton reckons McLaren would never ask him to move over, even if he was mathematically out of championship contention and Button was fighting for the drivers' crown.

The 2008 champion added: "I have never been in that position and I don't see myself ever being in that position. I would never expect it from the team.  For any driver - and I know Jenson feels the same - you have to earn the championship. He would have to take the spot off me.”
