Chelsea's 'double-winning squad' can repeat last year's fantastic season: Ancelotti

London(ANI): Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti reckons that his double-winning squad can deliver another trophy-laden season despite no new signings so far.

Ancelotti said that he is going to take it easy on his ageing stars, and has devised a special training regime to ease their workload during the campaign.

"You have to pay attention to players over 30. It is difficult to know how they will cope this season, but I think the names you mention, Lamps, Drogba, they're very professional. Also, physically they're very good again," The Sun quoted Ancelotti, as saying.

"We have to maintain the same job we did last year. Controlling rest periods for players is very important and we must make sure to control the load of the training sessions. After a fantastic season we could repeat it this year with these players," he added.

He further said that after the thrill of winning the FA Cup and the Premier League, they would now be aiming to achieve a treble.

"When you achieve fantastic results you have very good emotion about the celebration and how you feel good after victories. In our minds there are the celebrations and lot of fantastic memories from last season," Ancelotti said.

"The pressure on the team is the same as last season. We start again with the aim to win something and the aim to be competitive until the final game. If we are able to win again this year it would be fantastic although obviously we want to do better in the Champions League," he added.

Chelsea get their season under way on Sunday when they face Manchester United in the Community Shield at Wembley.

They then begin the defence of their Premier League crown the following Saturday with a home game against newly promoted West Bromwich Albion.
