Islamabad, Jan.22 (ANI) : Pakistan National Assembly's Standing Committee on Sports has summoned Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ijaz Butt, Chief
Operating Officer (COO) Wasim Bari and selector Mohammad Ilyas to explain the Indian Premier League (IPL) fiasco.

"We have asked Ijaz and Bari to attend and explain how they gave clearance to our players to participate in the Indian Premier League (IPL) bid without getting proper assurances that our players would not be humiliated in this fashion," The Daily Times committee chairman Jamshed Dasti, as saying.

"We have summoned Ilyas to ask him about his statement he made against the sports minister and federal sports ministry," he added.

Dasti criticised the PCB administration over the way it handled the IPL issue, saying the committee is particularly concerned over how the board has been dealing with India.

No player from Pakistan was picked up during the IPL 3 auction in Mumbai on Tuesday. Exciting all-rounder Shahid Afridi and left-arm pacer Sohail Tanvir came under the hammer but had no takers.

The issue has raised huge hue and cry across Pakistan with players saying that have been humiliated by the IPL management and were deliberately denied place in any of the teams. (ANI)
