Dhaka, Jan 25 (IANS) Indian batsman Rahul Dravid suffered a hairline fracture to his jaw  when he was struck by a short-pitched delivery from Bangladesh fast bowler Shahadat Hossain in the second cricket Test here Monday.

Dravid could not duck or take himself away from the line of the delivery and got the ball straight on his jaw. He retired hurt after scoring his 29th Test century.

Dravid was taken to a hospital and x-rays revealed a hairline fracture, according to Bangladesh  Cricket Board president Mustafa Kamal.

Kamal said doctors told him that Dravid is feeling fine and can be discharged from the hospital Tuesday.
