Karachi - A Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) committee, headed by Intikhab Alam, has recommended that Kamran Akmal, Mohammad Sami, and Mohammad Talha be offered central contracts for the current year.
"A decision on offering central contracts to additional players will be taken when PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf returns from abroad," the Daily Times quoted a PCB source, as saying. Ashraf is currently vacationing in the United States.
Akmal, Sami, and Talha were excluded from the list of 21 players who were offered the contracts in May.
Sami's exclusion had caused a big debate in Pakistan cricket circles, as during that time he was recalled to the national team for the tour of Sri Lanka, but was not offered the contract.
Kamran has been recalled to the Twenty20 side for the coming series against Australia and the T20 World Cup in Sri Lanka. The wicketkeeper batsman in the past has been given category A contracts.
