Knight Riders asked to abide by all guidelines at EdenKolkata, March 17 (IANS) West Bengal government Tuesday asked the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) management to abide by the guidelines during the Indian Premier League (IPL) matches at the Eden Gardens.

"We have asked the KKR management to follow the guidelines during the IPL matches. They have also assured us saying they will abide by the rules and regulations," state Sports Minister Kanti Ganguly told reporters here.

"It's necessary to put an end to the ongoing stalemate regarding the temporary gallery set up by the KKR management at the Eden Gardens," he added.

"I have already spoken to the chief minister (Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee) regarding the entire matter. No one should violate any norm during the IPL," he said.

Ganguly said he has asked the KKR management to carry out checking at all entry points and take action against the fake IPL tickets.

Earlier, state Fire Services Minister Pratim Chattopadhyay said his department would take action against the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) for not following the fire safety norms while setting up a temporary gallery for Sunday's IPL match.

"I have given a suggestion to the KKR management not to use the temporary gallery from today's (Tuesday) match on," Chattopadhyay said.
