Jane McGrath's McfGrath foundation dream closer to reality

Melbourne, March 18 (ANI): Glenn McGrath's late wife Jane, who died of breast cancer, re-launched the McGrath Foundation along with her husband with a dream that every sufferer should have access to a dedicated nurse.

Now, almost five years after the couple re-launched the foundation, Jane's dream has become closer to reality with 54 Foundation-funded breast care nurses coming together from across Australia for a beachside meeting.

"To have 53 of the 54 nurses here today is an amazing thing. They can share their experiences, help each other out along their way and continue to provide the wonderful care that they do," the Daily Telegraph quoted Glenn as saying.

Of the 54 McGrath Foundation-funded nurses working in Australian hospitals and health centres today, 47 have been introduced since Jane's death in June 2008.

Jane's best pal Tracy Bevan said she struggled to hold back tears as she addressed the nurses at Coogee's Crowne Plaza Hotel for a conference.

"I know that Jane would have been emotional to see her dream become reality," she said. (ANI)
