Praveen hat-trick sets up Rajasthan drubbingBangalore: Rajasthan Royals were handed a 10-wicket humiliation by Royal Challengers Bangalore to be condemned to their third successive defeat in the tournament at the Chinnaswamy Stadium on Thursday.

Bangalore packed off Rajasthan's batting order for a paltry 92 thanks to the season's first hat-trick from Praveen Kumar, before openers Manish Pandey and Jacques Kallis chased down the target with 9.2 overs to spare to hand their side one of the most convincing victories in the tournament.

Pandey was not out on 42 while Kallis was unbeaten on 44, the South African yet to be dismissed in the tournament. He also provided Bangalore with two key breakthroughs for a sterling all-round performance.

Put into bat, Rajasthan never found rhythm and laboured throughout their innings against some quality bowling from the Bangalore outfit. Yusuf Pathan was the top-scorer in a woeful batting performance with 26.

Rajasthan were unable to deal with the absence of Graeme Smith and Dmitri Mascarenhas from their side as the replacements failed to impress. Michael Lumb, who opened the innings was stumped for 10 while Damien Martyn ambled to 19 before being dismissed.

Kallis began the slide for Rajasthan after their openers saw out a probing opening spell. Captain Anil Kumble and Kallis struck in tandem as the Royals slumped, before a misjudged single brought an end to Yusuf Pathan's promising innings.

Praveen Kumar returned for his second spell and snared Martyn, Sumit Narwal and Paras Dogra off successive deliveries to spark off wild celebrations before Kumble wrapped up the innings. Praveen gave away 18 runs from his four overs along with three wickets and Kumble took 3-9 while Kallis picked up two wickets.

Bangalore, who lost their opening match to Kolkata Knight Riders have registered two inspiring performances on the trot, the first while chasing a huge target against Kings XI Punjab before outplaying Rajasthan.

Rajasthan, who have lost Graeme Smith and Dmitri Mascarenhas to injury, are struggling to find replacements to get their campaign on track.
