Seemingly unfazed at being ousted from the Asian Athletics Association, scam-tainted Suresh Kalmadi on Monday said losing the presidential re-election bid to Qatar’s Dahlan Jumaan Al-Hamad has actually given him a chance to work at the “grassroots” level.
“I have no issues today and I congratulate Mr Al-Hamad for being elected as President. I am rather relieved that I will be able to work at the grassroots level in athletics,” Mr. Kalmadi said after losing the vote during the ongoing AAA Congress in Pune.

Sydney - Brad McNamara, Nine Network's executive producer of cricket, hit out at Australian cricketer George Bailey, saying that Bailey would find himself "flipping burgers'' at McDonald's, for a living, without Nine's heavy financial support to Australian cricket.

McNamara made this statement following's Bailey's accusation that Channel Nine had made a tactical move to talk down one-day cricket during negotiations of TV-rights, reports News.com.au.

The situation arose when Steve Crawley, Nine's sports director, criticised the decision of Australian selectors to rest Clarke, David Warner and Matthew Wade from the opening two ODIs.

Mcnamara denied that any reference has been made, and said Bailey should stick to playing cricket and leave television rights to the concerned people
