Terry likely to be 'stripped' of England captaincy

London -England captain John Terry will not lead the England team at Euro 2012 after the Football Association (FA) decided to strip him of his captaincy, a report claims.

According to the BBC, the FA is going to announce their decision before the weekend.

This shock move comes after the FA chairman David Bernstein yesterday made contact with other board members over Terry's race case.

He is accused of racially abusing Anton Ferdinand during Chelsea's 1-0 defeat at QPR in October, although he has denied the charges and will stand trial on July 9 after the Euros.

District Judge Howard Riddle has set the date at a hearing on Wednesday after being informed that Terry's Chelsea team-mates would not be able to appear as witnesses until the end of the football season.
