Seemingly unfazed at being ousted from the Asian Athletics Association, scam-tainted Suresh Kalmadi on Monday said losing the presidential re-election bid to Qatar’s Dahlan Jumaan Al-Hamad has actually given him a chance to work at the “grassroots” level.
“I have no issues today and I congratulate Mr Al-Hamad for being elected as President. I am rather relieved that I will be able to work at the grassroots level in athletics,” Mr. Kalmadi said after losing the vote during the ongoing AAA Congress in Pune.

The Hague (Netherlands) -  Roger Federer grabbed his second title at the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam after beating Argentine Juan Martin Del Potro 6-1, 6-4 in the final Sunday.

The match was a replay of the 2009 US Open final, the only Grand Slam final won by Del Potro. This time however there was no doubt who was the better player. Federer put on an impressive and stylish performance in the Ahoy arena.

The number one seed from Switzerland dominated his Argentinian opponent from the start, with an early break in the second game, and eased to 6-1 in the first set. The second set was without breaks after

four games, but Federer broke the third seed to take a 3-2 lead. Del Potro failed to convert any of the seven breakpoints on offer.

Federer moved on to win the second set 6-4, claiming his second title in Rotterdam after his first title in 2005. The Swiss legend, current number three of the world, captured his first ATP title of 2012 and the 71st of his career.

"I hope it does not take another seven years before I come back again," Federer was quoted as saying by Xinhua. "But if it means I am still playing seven years from now, that would be nice."
