London - David Beckham was awarded the most stylish athlete at a children’s award show in Los Angeles.
The LA Galaxy star beat Dwyane Wade of the NBA’s Miami Heat, Serena Williams and Brian Wilson of the San Francisco Giants baseball team to take home the ‘That’s How I Roll’ award for the most stylish athlete at the 2nd Annual Cartoon Network Hall Of Game Awards.
The award was given to him by viewers of Cartoon Network, whose audience is made up of kids between the ages of two and 17, and Beckham took his youngest son Cruz up on stage to accept the award with him, the Daily Mail reported.
The high-energy event let viewers vote for their favourite sports stars and sports moments of the year, and was hosted by basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal.
Wearing a checked blue and white shirt jeans and a sporting a quiff, Beckham held Cruz’s hand as he led him into the stage and thanked his young fans for the honour.
He was also given the King of the Kick Icon Award.
The awards show was attended by an all-star line-up of sports icons like New York Giants player Victor Cruz, Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw, Detroit Lions quarterback
Matthew Stafford, professional surfer Maya Gabeira, BMX rider Steve McCann and WWE superstar The Miz.
Rapper Flo Rida and musical group Hot Chelle Ray performed, while ‘America’s Got Talent’ host Nick Cannon, ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid’ star Zachary Gordon, iCarly actress Jennette McCurdy and Rico Rodriguez, of ‘Modern Family’, were among the presenters.
