Seemingly unfazed at being ousted from the Asian Athletics Association, scam-tainted Suresh Kalmadi on Monday said losing the presidential re-election bid to Qatars Dahlan Jumaan Al-Hamad has actually given him a chance to work at the grassroots level.
I have no issues today and I congratulate Mr Al-Hamad for being elected as President. I am rather relieved that I will be able to work at the grassroots level in athletics, Mr. Kalmadi said after losing the vote during the ongoing AAA Congress in Pune.

London - Big earning footballers always want the biggest and the best when it comes to cars, houses or clothes, and image gurus are there to help these stars out, even though it might be heavy on their pockets.

According to previous reports, a soaring number of players risk going bust thanks to their love of spending, despite taking home around 1.47 million pounds a year.

Whether it’s cool cars or the latest clothes, the big earning stars always want the biggest and the best.

Top footballers love dressing up, and when they need something fancy and extravagant, they turn to Jada Pollock and Nicholas Jones.

Former Gucci employee Pollock, 27, started working as a personal shopper to footballers.

She set up a clothing business catering for players with Chelsea star Didier Drogba, 34.

The firm, Jada Styles, kits out Premier League stars with exclusive jewellery, shoes and casual wear.

Her clients include Chelsea’s John Terry, 31, Spurs ace Jermain Defoe, 29, and West Ham striker Carlton Cole, 28.

“Footballers are a lot more aware of fashion these days,” the Daily Star quoted her as saying.

“I often send the players emails with pictures with things they might like and visit their homes, the training grounds or their hotels for fittings or to deliver their clothes.

“The minimum spend is usually around 1,500 pounds but one player spent 27,000 pounds to get a whole season worth’s of clothes in one go. And sometimes they’ll buy two of the same item so they’ve got a spare,” she said.

Also helping to keep the players suited and booted is top Manchester-based tailor Nicholas Jones, 44.

He charges up to 4,000 pounds a time for bespoke suits.

“I’ve done wedding suits for Michael Carrick and Ryan Giggs. One players spent 16,000 pounds on suits with me in just a year,” Jones said.

“I tend to see them at home. Some houses are ridiculous – I asked Ryan if he got lost in his and he said he did.

“Lots of players are used to getting things straight away – I have to explain that it can take eight to 10 weeks to get a bespoke suit,” he added.
