Seemingly unfazed at being ousted from the Asian Athletics Association, scam-tainted Suresh Kalmadi on Monday said losing the presidential re-election bid to Qatar’s Dahlan Jumaan Al-Hamad has actually given him a chance to work at the “grassroots” level.
“I have no issues today and I congratulate Mr Al-Hamad for being elected as President. I am rather relieved that I will be able to work at the grassroots level in athletics,” Mr. Kalmadi said after losing the vote during the ongoing AAA Congress in Pune.

'Anxious' Guardiola admits helplessness in lifting Barca supporters

London - Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola has accepted he was powerless to lift club supporters and the fans on the back of the double defeats in the Champions League to Chelsea and in the La Liga to Real Madrid.

"I cannot tell them to be optimistic if they don't feel optimism," The Daily Star quoted Guardiola, as saying.

"If I lose I cannot tell our followers to have faith. If they have doubt they have their reasons," he added.

Barcelona's 1-0 defeat to Chelsea last Wednesday defeat at Stamford Bridge was followed by a 2-1 home loss to bitter rivals Real Madrid on Saturday.
