Macini says beating United would ‘eclipse’ anything he has ever achieved

London - Manchester City manager Robert Macini has said that beating Manchester United in Monday’s Premier League match and claiming the Premier League title would be the finest moments of his career.

“If we beat United to the title it would be the biggest achievement of my career. That’s because it’s in England, it’s the best championship in Europe,” the Daily Mirror quoted Macini, 47, as saying.

Mancini has transformed the once under-achieving club into a major force in the sport of football.

Mancini is determined to build ‘a legacy of sustained success at City’.

“Winning trophies is important everywhere, whether it is Barcelona, Real Madrid or Manchester City. But when you win with a club like City you change history as well and that would give me a greater sense of satisfaction,” he confessed.

Although Mancini is relishing the prospect of going head-to-head with United in the derby finale of Premier League tonight, he admitted that City has a long way to go before they can claim to be on the same level as United.

“If you win the title there can be no debate about who is the No 1 team in Manchester for this year at least,” he said.
