Greece's new Finance Minister sworn inAthens - Greece's new Finance Minister Yannis Stournaras has been sworn in to office, along with two deputy ministers.

Stournaras' televised swearing in ceremony at the presidential mansion in central Athens today was the first time Prime Minister Antonis Samaras appeared in public since undergoing eye surgery nearly two weeks ago, shortly after forming a coalition government with another two parties following inconclusive national elections.

Stournaras, a prominent economist, is to hold his first meeting with Greece's international debt inspectors from the European Central Bank, European Commission and International Monetary Fund.

He was named to the post last week after the initially designated finance minister turned down the post for health reasons.
