New Delhi - The police custody of former Haryana minister Gopal Kanda, under arrest in connection with the Geetika Sharma suicide case, ends on Tuesday even as more details about his past continue to tumble out.
Yesterday, the police had conducted fresh raids at Kanda’s house in SIrsa and are questioning him about his relationship with Geetika, who committed suicide on August 5.
In her suicide note, the former air hostess had named Kanda and his close aide Aruna Chaddha as being responsible for forcing her to commit suicide.
Meanwhile, a report claimed that Bollywood starlet Nupur Mehta, who is known to have been close to Kanda, has made sensational allegations against him. As per the report, Nupur has called Kanda a playboy, who loved to be in company of beautiful girls.
Nupur claims that Aruna Chaddha was Kanda’s accomplice in trapping gullible girls. Chaddha is presently in judicial custody.
Also, the Delhi Police are looking forward to questioning a naval officer in connection with the case. As per the report, the officer was Geetika’s childhood friend and was in constant touch with her.
One of Gopal Kanda’s closest aides Ankita Singh, who is believed to hold the keys to Gopal Kanda’s many secrets, has also come back to Delhi from Singapore. She is, reportedly, willing to cooperate in the Geetika Sharma suicide case.
Ankita Singh was a director of Mint casino in Goa which is a part of Kanda’s MDLR group. In a statement given to Goa Police in 2009, Ankita had claimed to be the wife of Kanda and having a love child from him.
Police had questioned Ankita on a complaint by Geetika, then a senior executive at Mint casino, who had alleged that Ankita had trespassed into her flat in Panaji and threatened her owing to her intimacy with Kanda.
