Patna, March 20 (IANS) A man died and his wife was critically injured after they were pushed out of a moving train by a Train Ticket Examiner (TTE) in Bihar's Kaimur district Saturday.
Police said the couple, Shiv Shankar and Sandhya Devi, bought a general ticket for Chandauli in Uttar Pradesh and boarded the Howrah-Dehrahun Express train at Sasaram railway station. They, however, entered a reserved compartment instead of the general compartment.
When the TTE discovered this he demanded extra money to make reservations for them but the couple refused to heed.
This led to a heated exchange following which the TTE in a fit of anger pushed them.
The couple fell from the moving train between Bhabhua and Kudra railway stations.
The Government Railway Police have lodged a case and began investigation. The TTE has not been arrested yet.
