Seemingly unfazed at being ousted from the Asian Athletics Association, scam-tainted Suresh Kalmadi on Monday said losing the presidential re-election bid to Qatars Dahlan Jumaan Al-Hamad has actually given him a chance to work at the grassroots level.
I have no issues today and I congratulate Mr Al-Hamad for being elected as President. I am rather relieved that I will be able to work at the grassroots level in athletics, Mr. Kalmadi said after losing the vote during the ongoing AAA Congress in Pune.

Republican says Obama’s drone programme ‘very scary and worrisome’

Washington - Republican Senator from Kentucky, Rand Paul has said President Barack Obama’s drone programme was ‘very scary and worrisome’ and feared it could open a ‘Pandora’s box’ about government’s power.

During an interview with CNN, Paul discussed his consideration of filibustering Obama’s nomination of John Brennan for CIA director.

According to Politico, he even criticized Brennan’s question-dodging regarding drone use at his confirmation hearing last week.

The White House has received criticism following the release of a memo earlier this month about the government’s use of drones overseas to kill Americans linked to terrorism.

Paul said that it is very scary and worrisome, we don’t even name the target of people we kill with drones.
He added that if there’s a line of traffic coming out of a camp and we think that is populated by people who don’t like America — we bomb them.

He continued that ‘is that a high enough standard for Americans maybe coming out of a city or an encampment somewhere in the U.S. where they’re meeting and saying anti-government things?

Paul added that are we going to have signature strikes in America?, it opens Pandora’s box once you say we may as well kill Americans in America without any judicial trial, with politicians making the decision, that’s very worrisome,” the report added.
