NEW DELHI: Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday instructed Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi to ensure that all police stations and other complexes are cleaned within a week, saying that he may undertake surprise visits.
Home minister today (Saturday) instructed the Delhi CP (B.S.) Bassi to ensure that all police stations and other complexes are cleaned within a week,” a tweet from the home ministry said.

Rajnath Singh has also asked Mr Bassi to monitor the cleanliness drive in police buildings.

“The home minister may undertake a surprise visit to any police station or other building after a week or so,” another tweet said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 2 launched the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, a nation-wide cleanliness drive that seeks to clean up the country in five years.

Mr Modi had also paid a surprise visit to the Mandir Marg police station in central Delhi, on his way to Valmiki Colony to launch the campaign, to check how clean it was.
