Greater Noida: Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar unveiled four cars from the BMW stable at the Auto Expo on Wednesday. Sachin, whose love for four wheels is a known fact, is also the brand ambassador for BMW.

The four cars unveiled by the luxury automaker at the Expo are BMW i8, BMW M6 Gran Coupe, the all-new BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo and the BMW X5.

The BMW i8, which was first seen in Hollywood flick Mission Impossible 4, will come as a completely built-up (CBU) unit to India by the end of 2014.

“The intelligent plug-in hybrid system in the BMW i8 combines the benefits of an electric motor and a petrol engine into an extraordinary driving experience,” BMW Group India President Philipp von Sahr said.

The all-new Gran Turismo will be made at BMW’s plant in Chennai and will be available at dealerships across the country from March 2014. It sports a price tag of Rs. 42.75 lakh. (Read the story here)

The BMW M6 Gran Coupe will be launched as a completely built-up unit (CBU) unit by mid-2014. The new X5 will be locally produced at company’s Chennai plant and is expected to hit market by the third quarter of 2014 year.

BMW India also launched MINI sub-brand ‘John Cooper Works’ with an exclusive range of John Cooper Works accessories, which include special exterior accents, interior features and an aerodynamic package.

The BMW Group introduced MINI as a premium brand in India in January 2012 with the launch of MINI Hatch, MINI Convertible and MINI Countryman.
