slammed his third Test half-century as Pakistan cruised ahead towards Sri Lanka‘s lead on Day Three of the second Test at P Sara Oval, Colombo. Pakistan were 129 for the loss of one wicket, trailing by 48 runs at tea. Shehzad was not out on 69 and Azhar Ali was not out on 47.There was a chance of Shehzad getting run out, when he tried to run down the crease and play Rangana Herath when the fielder at short leg collected the ball and gave it back to Dinesh Chandimal. However, Shehzad had dived back on time. Shehzad was also hit on the helmet by a short delivery off Dushmantha Chameera.

Shehzad and Azhar are involved in a 129-run partnership for the second wicket as they continue to steady Pakistan’s innings.

Debutant Chameera was seen going off with side strains. Herath, who did not bowl in the first innings, got the ball. However, he has not been successful yet.

Earlier, Pakistan lost opener Mohammad Hafeez as he played a loose shot off Angelo Mathews. He was caught at second slip by Kumar Sangakkara.

Sri Lanka resumed with their overnight score of 304 for the loss of nine wickets after a delayed start due to bad weather and later were dismissed for 315 in reply to Pakistan’s 138. Yasir Shah finished with figures of six for 96.
