Sydney – Indian spinner Ravindra Jadeja was fined 10 percent of his match fee for an over-the-top send-off of Shane Watson after taking his wicket in the deciding ODI with Australia in Bangalore on Saturday.

According to News.com.au, the International Cricket Council (ICC) found Jadeja celebrated the decisive wicket of Watson with far too much gusto, charging him for using language or a gesture that is obscene, offensive or insulting during an international match.

At the end of India’s 57-run victory, which clinched a 3-2 series win over the visitors, Jadeja admitted the offence and accepted the ICC’s sanction, the report said.

India showed little empathy toward Watson, who batted at No.8 after tweaking his hamstring while the hosts, amassed a total of 6-383, the report added.

Aside from Jadeja’s stern words after claiming his wicket, India opener Shikhar Dhawan mocked the oft-injured allrounder and his latest setback, the report further said.

Dhawan impersonated a hobbled Watson, who struggled to run between the wickets and was clearly in pain, according to the report.
