London – Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti, who formerly managed Chelsea, has admitted that he had tried to ‘kill’ one of his players during his tenure at Stamford Bridge over the player’s ‘lack of respect’.

The Italian guided Chelsea to the Premier League and FA Cup double during his first season in west London, but was sacked just a year later following a slightly more disappointing campaign.

According to Metro.co.uk, although Ancelotti has enjoyed good relationships with players during his spells at Chelsea, AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain and now Real, he admitted having problems with an unnamed player during his Chelsea stint.

Claiming that he had tried to kill the player, Ancelotti said that it however, was not possible as the player is the property of the club, adding that sometimes one cannot do whatever he desires.

Ancelotti further said that the player, whom he declined to identify, had a ‘well-documented history of misdemeanours’.

The Real Madrid boss also revealed he was once forced to punish striker Didier Drogba for punctuality reasons, but it only served to enhance their relationship.
