Tiger Woods shoots golf balls from Europe to Asia!
Johannesburg – Golf’s world number one Tiger Woods had reportedly brought the Turkish capital to a standstill for 20 minutes after he hit golf balls from one continent to another ahead of the Turkish Airlines Open.
Woods stood on a makeshift tee near the six-lane Bosphorus Bridge that links Europe with Asia, and then hit a number of shots across the river to the bemusement of the many observers collected at the place.
According to Sport24, three lanes of the world’s fourth largest suspension bridge, which spans the Bosphorus River and measures 1, 560 metres and 64 metres above the water, were closed down for the Turkish Airlines Open.
Woods expressed his pleasure to be able to be the first golfer to carry out the feat, adding that it was a very enjoyable and memorable experience.
Woods has previously hit golf balls from the helicopter pad of the Burg Al Arab hotel in Dubai and had also once hit golf balls off a mat from the balcony of his Heidelberg hotel room and into the Neckar River while competing in a European Tour event, the report added.
