Getting Around Delhi

Delhi - Pollution free, Stress free travel in Metro

One of the latest addition to the umpteen travel options available to tourists for exploring the city is the Delhi Metro.

This train service plies between specific locations in the city and offers fast, stress free, pollution free travel alternative to tourists. For unlimited travel, tourists have the option of buying either the day pass or the one which lasts for three days.

To enjoy Delhi the rustic way, travel by the city bus. The bus system in Delhi boasts of a large fleet which connects to even the remotest part of the city. Buses might be a very economical option but they sure have their perils. The city buses are not known to be very women friendly. So be sure to travel with a companion if you decide to hop a ride on the bus.

Tourist Buses are a great option. These buses have a city guide on board who explains the different sites on the route. Many tour operators run daily service for tourists.

Metered Taxis, Autorickshaws are other great options to travel within the city. Taxis offer comfortable travel, but make sure that the meter has been switched on before you start your journey. Private Taxis are also available in plenty. You can book yourself in a private taxi through a reliable tour operator. These might be a tad expensive but definitely worth the cost. If traveling with a local, then prefixing the rate would work out to be better. Autorickshaws are great for short jaunts. Delhi also has the 6-seater motorcycle rickshaws which run on specific routes and have fixed prices.

Cycle Rickshaws can be a fun ride on the inner streets of Delhi. Hop onto one if exploring Old Delhi.
