this purpose. Delhi is truly a shopper's haven. Being the capital city of India, Delhi combines the best from
the other parts of the country as well.
Pamper yourself in the finest of silks, brocades, pashminas from the emporiums or catch the latest designer
label from trendy, hip boutiques. If you are the adventurous kinds then you could even create your own
signature style with budget friendly street fashion available in plenty in Delhi.
Big labels and their stores can be found at Connaught Place, South Extension and Greater Kailash Part I and II.

Connaught Place
Laid out in the form of concentric circles, this marketplace was built during the time of the Britishers. Here
you can find anything from a book to electronic goods, jewelery etc. The government run state emporiums are on
Baba Kharak Singh Marg walking distance from the main market. In the centre of Connaught Place is a well laid
out garden. The famous underground shopping complex of Palika Bazaar is also here.
Chandni Chowk
Wedding shoppers or if you want to experience the real thrill of shopping amidst sidewalk vendors,
photographers, astrologers, honking vehicles, small stores filled with a cornucopia of silks, zari, brocade
then head out to this busy marketplace in Old Delhi.
A maze of lanes and bylanes are stocked with stores selling beautiful silks, embroidery, brassware etc. Kinari
Bazaar deals with bridal stuff and is famous for its embroidery work using silver and gold threads, called
Zardosi. You can even get your hands painted or a henna tattoo from the sidewalk artists.
Dilli Haaat
To take back the best of ethnic India, beautiful arts and craft items, head out to this market opposite to the
INA Market in South Delhi. This is one of the first permanent fairground in the country which showcases
beautiful tie and dye work, batik prints, terracotta pottery, handwashed dhurries (rugs), imitation jewelery
etc.
Hauz Khas Village
This is the place where one can hob knob with Delhi's rich and the famous. This trendy, upmarket shopping area
was established as a result of the city's southward expansion. Today, it is a mix of chic stores with designer
label clothes and modern furniture showrooms. One can catch a bite at one of the many gourmet restaurants in
the area.
Ansal Plaza
With the burgeoning demand for ease and convenience while shopping, many malls have sprung up in and around the
city. One of the popular ones is Ansal Plaza. Running several floors, the mall has everything you need to buy
