Diwali, Janmashtami, Holi, Id-ul-Fitr, Makar Sankranti, Dusshera, Christmas are all celebrated with vigor.
Holi
Holi which falls in the month of March is one of the important Hindu festivals celebrated in Delhi. People smear, spray dry colours, water balloons on others with a joyous chant of Holi Hai!
Janmashtami
Janmashtami celebrated in August is another festival where the entire city looks decked up. Temples and streets
all have street plays depicting the life of Lord Krishna.
Diwali
Diwali- The whole city wears a festive look weeks in advance. People exchange gifts and sweets. It is at this
time of the year that stores offer huge discounts on anything from dresses to jewelry and kitchen items.
Dusshera
During Dusshera, the festivities go on for full ten days. Ramlila or the story of Lord Rama is acted out at
various places. During the culmination of the ten days an effigy of Ravana, the demon are burnt, signifying the
triumph of good over evil.

In july, held each year at the Talkatora Stadium draws the curious and fruit lovers. Different types of this
juicy, sweet fruit are at display during the festival.
Surajkund Arts and Crafts Mela
Held in the month of February, the crafts fair brings artists from all parts of India to showcase their items.
International Trade Fair
Held at the Pragati Maidan in the month of November, the fair showcases the best from all the states of India
and abroad.
