The Buck Stops Here: In major relief for Narendra Modi, a Gujarat court today accepted a clean chit given to him in the 2002 communal violence in the state. Petitioner Zakia Jafri, wife of former Congress MP Ehsan Jafri who was killed in the riots, has said that she is disappointed with the court’s decision and will pursue the matter. But even as the Congress continues to attack Mr Modi over his allegedly anti-secular credentials, does the court’s verdict come as a moral victory for Mr Modi and the BJP, reducing the Congress to the ‘politics of negativity’?
