Tactical Genius Brigadier Bakshi
Period : 1971 Indo- Pak warBrigadier Bakshi commanded the 340 Mountain Brigade Group stationed at the eastern front during the Indo-Pak war of 1971. The Brigadier was aksed to capture Pirganj and establish a roadblock to halt enemy advance further into the area. The Brigadier meticulously made his plans. His troops would advance along Nawabganj and Chandipur, before reaching Pirganj. He advanced with his troops on 7th December and the by the 16th, he had succeeded in capturing a series of enemy strongholds, including the town of Bogra. His tactical moves outwitted the enemy and broke their resistance as they were unable to decipher his movements. A large number of enemy troops were captured along with a huge cache of arms and equipment.
