On Friday, Arvind Kejriwal suffered a major embarrassment after his move to table the anti-corruption Jan Lokpal bill was struck down in the Delhi assembly. Legislators from other parties shouted angrily as he said he was tabling the proposal to set up an ombudsman agency to investigate corrupt government officers. He had said earlier that he would resign if the bill was blocked.
