Shopian encounter: Firing resumes, one militant still hiding

The encounter between the Army and a militant holed up in a house in Jammu & Kashmir’s Shopian town resumed today. An Army Major was killed in a six-hour-long gun-battle with three militants on Friday, after which the operation was suspended for the night. The Army has been maintaining a tight vigil over the cordoned area to ensure that no one gets away.
