India’s First Voter, Now 97, Casts His Vote Amid Fanfare
In the fruit-laden Himachal town of Kinnaur, the local hero is not named Modi or Gandhi or Kejriwal. White-haired and wrinkled, Shyam Saran Negi was presented with a shawl and a garland on Wednesday morning as he arrived to cast his vote in the eighth round of polling of the national election.
