With a controversy erupting over grant of permission for Narendra Modi’s rally scheduled for tomorrow in Varanasi, BJP’s Arun Jaitley, addressing a press conference, said “this isn’t a banana republic that a prime ministerial candidate by a pliant returning officer isn’t allowed to address meetings in his own constituency.”
